The Braintree Business Development Center (officially known as The Mansfield / Richland Incubator) is a non-profit business incubator which assists business startups and emerging companies in Northeast Ohio, particularly Mansfield and Ashland. Braintree offers counseling, customer referral, access to capital, and training opportunities. Tenants benefit from networking with many dynamic new businesses in an environment of shared facilities and resources. Braintree focuses on entrepreneurs who commercialize technology, particularly in the areas of clean energy, advance manufacturing, biosciences and information technologies. Services include: support system of successful entrepreneurs, flexible space, high-speed internet access, links to accounting, financial, and legal professionals, one-on-one business counseling, and networking opportunities.

CincyTech

CincyTech is a regional technology initiative supported by the State of Ohio’s Third Frontier Project. CincyTech’s mission is to accelerate the growth of start-up technology businesses into high growth companies in Southwest Ohio through management assistance, seed capital investments, and connections to partners who share their mission. Their work focuses on opportunities in information technology and bioscience. They provide the following services: connections to a network of resources for assistance; management assistance to help accelerate the growth of promising technology companies; seed stage investments through a $10.4 million seed fund; capital formation assistance provided by an investment development director who will work with clients to access follow-on rounds of capital from angel and private equity investors regionally and nationally; and imagining grants to prove the potential of technologies developed at regional research centers to be commercialized by startup companies. Grants will also be available to launch new companies based on orphaned technology at established regional companies.

Columbus Partnership, The

The Dayton Development Coalition works to promote prosperity and expansion within the Dayton region in Southwest Ohio. The area is a diverse mixture of cultures, experience, people and places. Dayton’s community has many assets, including universities, businesses, and a skilled, diverse workforce. Dayton’s business strengths are in Information Technology, Aerospace Research and Development, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing as well as Human Sciences and Healthcare. Accelerant is a public-private seed-stage investor whose mission is to strengthen the regional economy by driving talent and capital into scalable technology companies in Western Ohio. An initiative of the Dayton Development Coalition, Accelerant has a team of experts to help start-up technology companies with seed funding, business and financial guidance, and business plan strategy. With assistance to dozens of start-up companies and investments through the Dayton Region Signature Fund in 34 new start-up businesses, the fund has had 10 successful graduates in the portfolio since its inception in September 2007. Accelerant is currently closing its new fund, Accelerant Fund I. The program is making a significant difference in the Dayton Region.
